Liaisons dangereuses. An Interdisciplinary Meeting between Mind and Culture ABSTRACT: The relationship between mind and culture, in its interdisciplinary articulations, was the topic of the conference held in Vietri sul Mare on 20 June 2007. Organised by the University of Salerno, the conference attendees included, among others, one of the twentieth century’s most renowned psychologists, the American Jerome Bruner, and the Neapolitan philosopher Aldo Masullo. Taking the interdisciplinary nature of Bruner’s own research as their starting point, the organisers brought together philosophers, psychologists, sociologists of law and legal theorists for a multi-faceted discussion that explored the relationship between mind and culture, delving beyond certain set-piece oppositions that are sometimes restricted to rigidly disciplinary spaces.
