Scambi intergenerazionali e cura delle persone anziane ABSTRACT: Relationships between generations have evolved over time partly because of the increase in life expectancy. Family members provide an important part of community care for the elderly. Therefore it is important to understand the new model of communication trough which family solidarity towards the elderly is or is not expressed. The sociological approach allows an understanding of how intergenerational, intersubjective exchanges are embedded in the historical contexts of family obligations and loyalties. The therapist can refer to this, in order to identify the resources that the different members of the family can offer, to understand the importance of that demographic evolution on the family, and to acnowledge the effort made by the children for their parents. Key Words: Elderly, Family Solidarity, Intergenerational Intersubjective Exchanges.
