The article points out peculiarities which contributed and are today still contributing to the achievement of the Ebm through the narratives of hospital physicians. The work presents a survey conducted among hospital physicians and shows, from their standpoint, the constraints and the opportunities of what they call "the medicine of the effectiveness". The aim of this medicine is to improve individual and population health through the transfer of the best evidences and practices.
