The present paper has been divided in two sections in order to reflect its double aim: first, to conduct a brief review about the concept of life quality and the indicators to it related, highlighting their main characteristics; second, to illustrate main territorial issues arisen, even if the territory - joint to the environment - constitute a fundamental aspect of life quality in economically and socially advanced countries, such as Italy.
