Learning from experience: the inexhaustibility of training. Talking about education means facing an essential paradox, but a fruitful and productive one. The point is that every relationship that is meaningful in the field of education can be effective only if contextual, unique, singular, unrepeatable. Theorizing about education means generalizing; it homologates spaces, times, situations, individuals. The very possibility of talking about education requires the discovery of a difference, while inhabiting there. This difference is insuperable, but we can steadily shift and reinvent it. Analogies with other situations are operative only we do not forget the distinctive features of present experience we are dealing with, while we can understand a singularity only by projecting it into a broader frame, comparing affinities and contrasts. Thus every educational relationship is a microcosmos concentrating the very pre-conditions of human knowing, intertwining laws and events, universality and historicity.
