Holland and Denmark in the National Socialist "Great space" 1940-41 deals with the monetary policy pursued by the Nazi regime in Denmark and the Netherlands during the first months of occupation in World War II. It analyzes the feuds between different German institutions regarding occupation expenses, exchange rates, price policy and monetary integration. The comparison shows that in both countries several German state agencies - such as the Reichsbank and the Reich Commissar for Price Formation - pressed for a gradual integration. Their policy was contested by other agencies, such as the Four Year Plan Organization, which pushed for an acceleration of this process in order to increase economic exploitation through monetary means.
