The vocation of the primary sector today is no longer limited to the mere production of food, but also embraces the needs of energetic character through the development of so-called agroenergy: on the one hand, the use of land for energy purposes threatens food security, on the other side, there are many reasons which call for the use of renewable energy, so is indispensable to coordinate the food with the energy demands in the three facets of security, safety and quality. The agriculture law is therefore called to face new challenges with regard to the energy, highlighting the potential of existing instruments and introducing significant new elements.
