Author suggests a remark of the constitutional debate about art. 29, 1° paragraph, of the Italian Constitution for restoring historical authenticity to family "constitutional statute". That debate, in fact, was deeply influenced - as also the Christian Democratic constituent Maria Federici said - by «troppo vigilante direzione clericale» and arrangements between lay and catholic parties. Starting from these preliminary remarks, discussion didn’t point out enough a new element: the female participation. So, in spite of some precursory proposals suggested by female constituents, the attempt to assure the family a constitutional protection able to face, with flexibility, the social changes was unsuccessful.
