The first car model was an electric car. First set aside by the traditional car and then the hybrid that was able to offer better performance, and in the last few years seems to have found new stimuli. Overcoming the dualistic approach to innovation, such as supply push or demand pull, the authors propose a mapping of the 50 cars available in the Italian market, based on an integrated approach firm perspective – policy perspective. The results provide a contribution to understanding the order and the balance of the evolutionary forces that govern the market and they will also provide useful information to the users and policymakers by helping them to define coordinated measures and marketing strategies for the development of the market.
