In this paper I aim to expose the Hegelian theory of recognition in light of Kojève’s interpretation and I will focus my attention on the Master-Slave’s dialectic in the Phenomenology of spirit. My task is to demonstrate the relevance of this process in order to describe the subjective constitution of self-consciousness. In particular I would like di point out the necessity to consider the repot with the objective and external World in order to understand the complexity of intersubjective relation between subjects.
