Karl Jaspers was a philosopher and a psychiatrist who deeply influenced last century psychiatry. His importance is still alive nowadays. He published the Allgemeine Psychopathologie in 1913 and founded the psychopatholoy as a science in its own right. The main Jaspers’s legacy is described as the methodological import, as the Jaspers’s perspectivism; the importance to study subjective experiences scientifically, as Jaspers’s Phenomenology; the concept of Understanding.
