The model of complex system dynamics and the paradigm of complexity provide interesting opportunities to reflect on the theoretical and practical assumptions of psychoanalysis. In this article the Author discusses in particular the question of the non-linearity of living systems seen as the overcoming of the deterministic predictable single-factor model of reality. With the help of the case history of Alessandro the Author discusses the questions of diagnosis, psychoanalytical theory and the mental approach that can help go beyond the linear model.
Keywords: Complex dynamic system, non linearity, complexity’s paradigm, living systems, diagnosis, psychoanalytic theory
