In the past for psychoanalysts all was "easier": well-defined concepts and therapeutic systems, a theoretical world well structured and little challenged. Freud’s effort to describe the unconscious was followed by innovations that not only went beyond the concept of drive as basic element of the mind, but also introduced models and processes of the changes in patients that are no longer related to the technique of interpretation. Will psychoanalysis be able to win the challenge of time? This posthumous paper of our dear deceased colleague is encouraging all of us still willing to fight: a gift and a spiritual heritage.
Keywords: Psychoanalytic relation, non linearity, disorder, uncertainty, communication, changing
