The coexistence of the most varied psychoanalytic theories necessarily generates conflicts not so much with our peers but rather within our internal multiplicity of references. These disputes stem from the impossibility to translate one psychoanalytic language into another. Far from being a disability, such a Babelian discord underlies a form of disquiet that is inherent in the foundational strangeness of psychoanalytic practice.
