The duty of loyalty to the Republic, provided for by the Constitution, has been the object of multiple and differentiated doctrinal interpretations. This has complicated the identification of a precise and legal-prescriptive meaning of the duty. It is necessary to start a reconstructive path based on the essential characteristics of this duty.
