The attempt to present a World History of Italy was a challenge that we can consider broadly positive. What emerges in this volume is not only a great mosaic of history from antiquity to the present day, but also the sense of a historiographical debate that has allowed us to better understand the events of our country. The difficulty in telling this long story has been solved by inserting it in a global context that is always present. In this way even particular moments and minor events are able to throw light on the structural aspects of economic and political, social and cultural history. The result is a story of the history of Italy, of its transformations, of its crises, most significant, through sometimes little known, characters, places and events

Keywords: Italy, World History, Events, Globalisation.
