The quarantine imposed itself as a rule to contain the epidemic spread of the SARS COVID-19 virus which has given impetus to the research of a pheno¬menon that has been discussed for many years: the shift from the traditional therapeutic setting, vis-a-vis, to the so-called online psychotherapy. This raises problems of ethical nature, pragmatic and logistical. Furthermore, there are organizational challenges as well as the need for specific training and further investigation into the effectiveness and the strategies that can be used. This paper aims to illustrate signi¬ficant data on the issues mentioned above and to raise further questions to stimula¬te research and understanding of online psychotherapeutic techniques.

Keywords: online psychotherapy; ethics; telepsychology; therapeutic rela¬tionship; COVID-19 emergency.
