Complex challenges, such as the migration crisis, make it necessary to rethink public communication, especially at local level, in order to guarantee new strategies of social inclusion and participation that meet the diversified information needs of the territory. This becomes particularly true, and necessary, within a crisis or emergency scenario in which measures and services must be communicated in a clear and timely manner also to that part of the population that is still very often "invisible", poorly integrated, whose information/relationships become primary tools for maintaining a distance contact with institutions and the local community. The study intends to reflect on the relationship between local institutions, the media and foreign communities, focusing on the communication strategies promoted by public bodies to foster the reception and greater involvement of immigrants in the Marche region before and "after" the Covid-19 pandemic.
