The article reflects on social innovation practices applied to the management of the cultural heritage in the city of Naples, and on the impact of these practices on tourism and community relations. More specifically, the contribution focuses on the case of the the Sanità district in Naples, where practices and paths of innovation and urban regeneration have reached unexpected levels in recent years, and where the lively commitment of associations - triggered by the social cooperative ‘La Paranza’ - led to the reuse of completely forgotten cultural sites, transformed from abandoned places into places of social inclusion, collective participation and tourist itineraries.
