Notes on the evolution of the crime genre: yesterday today.. and tomorrow? Books resemble people and their reading requires a setting that contextualizes the relationship with the text. The author wonders about the possible develop-ments of Italian crime, a very successful literary genre. The serial has privileged the characters with their tics to the detriment of the stories. He advocates a return to the classics (Hammett, Chandler, Simenon, Dürrenmatt, Scerbanenco,Vázquez Montalbán), examines the development of crime literature and concludes that the time has come to free crime novels from the cage of the genre, working on narrative structures, language and style.
