The paper examines food charity in Cremona and Pietrasanta through the lens of social innovation. Food insecurity drives volunteers to collect food from closed establishments and adopt new distribution methods. These efforts are socially innovative, providing benefits to the community, reshaping existing intervention models, and engaging local actors more effectively. The focus on a medium-sized city and a smaller yet interconnected one brings innovation to the debate, traditionally concentrated on metropolitan areas.
