Believer in total immersion. The pain and the comfort in psychosocioanalysis. In 1984 in sequence with The Challenge of Complexity Luigi Pagliarani proposed an essay Ambiguity: Feeling of Time. Although in his declared “dependence” on Bleger’s work, Luigi Pagliarani similarly to what had already been proposed with regard to Bion’s basic assumptions, of ambiguity he also proposes a perspective that goes beyond the obligation to choose between different meanings, as much as the effort – which cannot but be also “sentimental” – «to understand that they do not differ, but coincide». From this perspective, ambiguity arises as an occasion and instrument of knowledge, «show-ing the unity of what appeared different», placing itself «at the service of precision». And so complexity and ambiguity fraternise in the common conviction of the necessity of overcoming the aseptic barrier between observer and observed, which places human subjects in the full awareness of being active and responsible actors. In the second part of the contribution, also as a tribute to Luigi Pagliarani’s love for literature and poetry in particular, through daydreaming, Luigi Pagliarani lands in Argentina, Bleger’s homeland, and meets a poetess, Elisabeth Bishop, who with her poetry and her rêverie will make the mature psychosocioanalyst touch the perspectives of an ambiguity psy-chosocioanalysis existentially crossed.
