The paper aims to offer a reflection on the operating model of the home education service in the current scenario. The widespread recourse to educational intervention at home in work with complex or multi-problematic families indicates the perception of a need with respect to which the educational intervention represents a resource. The home education service is complex in terms of the delicacy of the intervention but also of the organizational management. Its effectiveness in our experience is closely connected to the technical quality combined with the organizational stability, and to the fact that the service remains firmly anchored to a solid methodological container and to a framework of meanings consistent with the phases of the intervention pro-cess and the context of taking charge. The text therefore focuses on some aspects of the model whose effectiveness we have experienced: the systemic approach, integrat-ed and multidisciplinary work, attention to work contexts, participatory planning, at-tention to the design dimension and the temporariness of interventions.
