This article explores the impact of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GAI) in the educational field, analyzing the opportunities and risks associated with its integration in schools and universities. The first part outlines practical applications of GAI, highlighting how it can personalize learning and support student creativity. The ethical implications, such as technological dependency, the reduction of student autonomy, the risk of algorithmic bias, and challenges of GAI in education, emphasizing the importance of careful regulation and collaboration between developers, educators, and policymakers. Finally, future prospects for research and the development of more transparent and equitable GAI technologies are discussed. The article concludes with a reflection on the need for a balanced approach that can harness the potential of GAI without compromising the integrity and equity of the educational system.
