The Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) is an educational framework designed to assist students by providing interventions of increasing intensity and continuous monitoring throughout their learning journey. Although it has its origins in North America, the transferability of MTSS to European contexts is gaining growing interest. This paper provides an overview of the MTSS model, outlining its origins, key features, and evidence of effectiveness. Additionally, it explores the challenges and opportunities associated with implementing this model in Italy, as well as the research implications involved in adapting the model, evaluating its effectiveness, and investigating the conditions that support its successful implementation.
