Brief therapies can be a useful response to the progressive overload, or saturation of public mental health services. However, on the one hand service saturation should not be handled with symmetric solutions, as it represents the crisis point of a system that requires structural changes and not concrete solutions. On the other hand brief therapies - that focus on the demand - only partially solve service saturation. Nonetheless, during the admission-assessment phase, this technique can be a useful treatment modality that provides answers to a large number of demands.
