Starting from the metaphors coming from the technology field and applied to the human relationship world, we want to explore the meaning of the relational system and its recent aspects: the psychology and the psychopathology of the connection, which is considered both as joining together and as connect two things. The relationship between man and machine and the consequent schizophrenic- like relationship have been inquired, analyzing the use of the avatar of Second Life and making hypothesis about new analogies between mental disorders and therapeutic strategies. Keywords: men-machine relationship, Second Life, new media psychopathology.
