Insorgenze controrivoluzionarie e antinapoleoniche in Italia (1796-1814). Presunti complotti e sedicenti storici ABSTRACT: Massimo Cattaneo analyzes the historical revisionism of confessional character, published in Italy between 1989 and 1999, in the wake of the bicentennial celebrations of the French Revolution and of the Italian sister republics of 1796-99. Various associations and traditionalist conservative Catholic historians promoted colloquia, exhibitions and publications that were explicitly and polemically against academic historiography, described by them as dominated by liberal-marxist culture. What they produced was wholly without scientific interest, but made evident their ties to elements in the Catholic church, politics, mass media and universities. In Oblio e memorie della schiavitù
