The paper starts with the assumption that the city is like polyphonic music, a tale which is being continuously elaborated both diachronically and synchronically. From this assumption, some circumstances are analyzed where urban studies might no longer be able to warrant the interaction between the members of the community and the scenario in which they live. As a case in point, the paper rises some questions about the perspective of new forms of synergistic participations of the actors in that scenario.
