A Gestalt model of Organizational Consulting

The Gestalt model of organizational consulting presented here is based on the group model published in Spagnuolo Lobb (2011). Two principal criteria of organizational group wellness are described: the synchronic and the diachronic criteria. An observation tool for groups is presented that can be used by Gestalt organizational counselors. An interview used to analyze the manager’s culture on organizational groups is also presented. Data from group interviews is then integrated with the counsellor’s own observations of the group climate in order to give feedback (consulting report) to the manager who has asked for this service. This model of organizational consulting is based on an aesthetic, phenomenological and relational perspective, and this makes it in line with organizational culture, which is focused on the "next", on problem solving rather than on an analytical understanding of them. The model is based on support for what already works in the organization and with attention to the aesthetic qualities of experience, it finds the harmony that already exists - and in certain cases waits to be supported - in group relationships.
