The article takes cue from qualitative and ethnographic research, trainings and consulting interventions carried out in different districts of two Italian regions (Emilia Romagna and Lombardy). The aim of the intervention is to analyze how, starting from the general framework defined by 328/00 law, in Italy are developing different and varied experiences of attendance and definition of roles between institutional actors and subjects of third sector, and how this assiduous frequentation implies the development of inevitable interactions between operators who belong to different agencies: public, social private, and - in a lesser measure - private profit. This is an issue that involves the skills to act of the operators; that can undermine, or at least weaken, the processes of governance and that instead, if properly recognized, can develop a consciousness capable of generating indispensable forms of mutual recognition.
