The concept of recognition in Gramsci depends on his idea of hegemony. For him with the word power we must not intend politcal power only, but also traditions, customs and so on. This approach tends to cope with the concept of Long Term, as it is expressed by Ferdinand Braudel and with the problems called on by the feminist movements.
