Un rinnovato interesse ad investire nell’agricoltura africana accresce le pressioni commerciali sulla terra. Normative nazionali, internazionali e transnazionali determinano diritti; obblighi; meccanismi di esecuzione; arene per negoziato e contestazione tra i molteplici attori che gli investimenti agricoli mettono in contatto. Eredità storiche e sviluppi recenti hanno favorito la creazione di un regime giuridico che è volto a favorire i flussi di investimento, più che ad assicurare che tali flussi portino benefici alle popolazioni nei Paesi riceventi. Per promuovere investimenti inclusivi nell’agricoltura, è necessario ripensare aspetti importanti del diritto, e rafforzare le capacità locali di esercitare diritti in modo efficace.
