Immigrants’ mental health is a topic of growing interest in Italy, according to the importance that the presence of foreigners has taken in the country. This article addresses this issue trying to highlight the variety of approaches present in the international literature. In the first part, it takes into consideration the statistical studies, the analyses focused on stress factors in migratory process, the ethnopsychiatric approach and the contribution of community psychology. The second part examines the provision of services to immigrants by centers and associations in Turin. The concluding remarks highlight the need for an interdisciplinary approach, attentive to the context and taking into account the various levels that are relevant for immigrants’ psychological well-being: individual, collective, group level.
