The author on the basis of her experience of therapeutic work with political refugees, tries to put their journey into words, from departure to arrival in a foreign land. She also depicts the destruction of their inter-subjective ties, as well as the mistrust the migrant, as a bewildered figure, inspires to residents: he comes from faraway lands, antithetic to Europe and "civilization". Moreover, she expresses the memories and the strident horizons of needs that the foreigner, with his forced journey and his modest look, evokes in the people that welcomes him; and, therefore, to the repressed or unrepressed results of all this in the treatment relationship.
