In the last few years the Visual Sociology Lab explored some spaces, which may be the destiny of migrant trajectories: the carceral system and the public health care system for drug addictions. Through these fieldworks, the authors have experimented the technique of "video-workshops", which are aimed to a more horizontal and dialogic relation between researchers and subjects. Video, or sociological documentary, is intended to be not just an end, but mostly a mean. Likewise a Möbius strip, video is a circular and generative process that, on one hand, gives account of the ongoing research while on the other hand it helps to progressively build and border the field, in a common path for "researchers" and "researched".
