On the basis of the analysis and comparison of three good reception practices, located in different mountain contexts (Cadore, Valcamonica, Prealpi Biellesi),the authors argue that the peculiar characteristics of the high lands of our country - given some context and structural conditions - can facilitate the social and labor integration of asylum seekers and refugees, triggering not only the resilience of the local communities concerned but also the emergence of specific forms of markets such as nested markets. This model of socio-economic analysis can describe both the complexity of the terms of the exchange of resources in particular contexts, such as the Alps and the Apennines, and to grasp the hybrid essence of organizations and local development activities triggered in fragile areas by the presence of the new "Highlanders Perforce".
Keywords: Reception; innovation; resilience; nested markets; highlanders perforce; Alps
