Starting from the concept that the city is a highly complex urban system, this research aims to the evaluation of the interdependency between two of its physical components, buildings and road infrastructures, in order to define more resilient urban planning approaches. The first step of the method framework aims to check buildings vulnerability with reference to a specific seismic scenario. Moreover, the second phase is to determinate road availability when an event occurs, on the basis of possible debris obstruction generated by facing buildings collapse. The results obtained for a case of study applied to Turin virtual city, show clearly the potential and transversality of the proposed method.
