In a territory characterized by the urban sprawl, such as the Veneto region, the allocation of planning standards has followed different paths, also according to the development of the regional legislation, and it has produced a rich and widespread set of collective facilities and spaces. The growing environmental awareness and the emergence of new social practices, for instance, have led to the creation of complex environmental devices at a large scale. In addition to acting as tools for improving the ecosystem performances, these collective spaces have strengthened the offer of leisure activities and have concurred to further build a considerable estate of public lands.
