Monia Andreani had very broad scientific interests. Although she never wrote spe-cifically about opera, she often lectured on the subject. The personal memories of the author and the analysis of matter concerning Andreani’s musical lectures al-lowed us to identify some main threads: the lyrical voice in a Gender Studies per-spective, Opera characters en travesti, opportunities and disadvantages of female singers’ career. It would have been difficult to isolate a single theme and privilege it over the others to develop a detailed, although brief, scientific article. Also for this reason, these themes take the shape of a Lucianean dialogue (and this peculiar choice is meant to be a dedication to Monia Andreani who loved Lucian and, above all, Leopardi). The challenge is also on this literary genre: not properly a philosophical paper, but a parodistic dialogue - based on a scientific outlook - that will provide food for thought to a third hidden protagonist never mentioned by the author but yet ‘included’: the reader.
