The awareness that traditional methods can no longer respond to the needs and ways of learning of new generations has shifted the interest of scholars and teachers to the discovery of alternative methods such as Active Learning. However, despite the potentialities attributed to this method, for the attention to the centrality of the student and the promotion of an effective and meaningful learning, the resistance of students is not lacking within the classroom contexts. The paper, after the analysis of the forms and possible causes of the students’ resistance to Active Learning, presents some possible strategies for reducing it.
