. In this article the authors reflect on the sudden transition to an online setting due to the lockdown measures introduced to deal with the Covid-19 virus. Through clinical cases, as well as Jungian and Kleinian theories, the authors highlight parallels between the collective reactions to the pandemic and certain regressive mechanisms that are reminiscent of the fundamental steps of early psychic development. The authors interpret the outcomes of several different on-line therapies by referring to the images, dreams and narratives recounted by their patients. The contents reveal the delicate interconnections between the intrapsychic, interpersonal and collective dimensions. Our most deep-rooted primary feelings of deficiency and hatred may seem to be resolved by an omnipotent impression of efficiency, enhanced by technological means, but this in fact blinds us to the feeling of powerlessness.

Keywords: Covid-19; setting; projective identification; quarantine; on-line psychotherapy; fear of death; "Stranger Things"; technology.
