The life events bring changes. Catastrophic events can lead to acute and radical changes, to highlight defenses and imbalances in the face of threats and changes. Freud began to address the issue in the short essay On Transience, which is mentioned here and linked to possible changes induced by the Covid 19 pandemic, which still is ongoing. The Author briefly illus-trates two severe clinical cases that have shown changes during this crisis, stressing some no-tions concerning different forms of break down in the area of depressive syndromes. Moreo-ver, the complexity and the possible coexistence of different psychopathological disorders are recalled.
