The essay exposes the design idea of the Regional Museum of Ceramics of Caltagirone, presented for the first time in the new location, the former convent of St. Agostino. The outline discloses the methodology selected to ensure the fruition of the museum collections, belonging to the period from 1500 to 1800 and mainly composed of pharmacy jars, through an innovative scientific path divided into five themes. The history of modern majolica, supported by the knowledge acquired by studies in Sicily and in Malta, was presented by retracing the various applications of the ceramics of Caltagirone in different sectors.
