Will what has been written, hypothesized, theorized, "before" the Covid pandemic still be valid or does the typhon that overwhelmed us call for a reconsideration? The author explores this question rethinking a work of hers about the states that fall under the name of "boredom", such a frequent experience in the clinical practice and still so unexplored in the psychoanalytic literature. The hypothesis is that the expe-rience of pandemic put in evidence continuity and diversity in this phenomenom and allowed to discover in the claim of 2boredom" the fingerprint of an unspeakable pain.
Keywords: boredom, pain, passivity, melancholy, malleability, conti-nuity of existence.
