The production process of school infrastructure had a relevant impact on the spa-tial organization of post-WWII Italian cities. In recent years the state of knowledge of the Italian school heritage has been strengthened: this contribution proposes a look at the territorial specificity of this legacy, rooting in contexts and over time some interpretative hypotheses, through three insights that restore the interweaving of tools, localization strategies, and urban transformations.
