The essay reconstructs the network of relationships and the family environment of Mancini. The jurist and politician, who served as deputy for the moderate left from 1859 to his death, minister several times, managed to combine a versatile intelligence with a great ability to make friends, scientific and professional relationships in the Naples of the 40s and then in the Turin where he lived in exile. Skilled lawyer, no small part of his success was due to the support of his family, from his wife Laura Beatrice, a poetess, very well received in the patriotic salons, to his daughter Grazia, who together with her husband Augusto Pierantoni, professor in international law, supported his emotional equilibrium and contributed to building and glorifying the image of the great jurist, bringing to coherence a fragmented scientific and human parable at the center of which always remained the lawyer.
