The article presents the clinical case of a 14-year-old girl that has been in social withdrawal for 8 months, highlighting the psychic issues that are behind her discomfort. In particular, there is an emphasis on the symbiotic dimension that characterizes her relationship with her mother as well as on the family atmosphere which leaves her father in the background. It is also highlighted how much the refusal of the school is not attributable to the performance dimension but to difficulties in the relational field. This clinical history is also a confirmation of the possibility of carrying out psychotherapy online which, with hikikomori children, could represent an important resource.
