The article analyses the surveillance activities carried out by the Divisione Affari Riservati (Dar) of the Ministry of the Interior on the Italian Communist Party (Pci) during the early stages of the Korean War. In the context of growing international tension, the conflict rekindled concerns about a global war, prompting the Italian authorities to intensify their control of Communist actors. The Dar operated in an environment of intense internal political conflict, where monitoring the Pci became a national security priority. The article examines the ways in which the Dar intervened, emphasising its pivotal role in confronting political opposition.
