The following contributions discuss some of the areas of research explored by Stuart Woolf during his long and prolific career as a scholar, such as assistance to the poor, Napoleonic Europe, the unification of Italy, Fascism, and nationalism. The hope is to discussion highlights the significance that some of his studies had in innovating the Italian and international historiographical debate on the topics investigated.
